Use Review Assignments in Epiq AI Review to manage which reviewers can access and complete work on specific review batches. Assignments link each batch to the reviewers responsible for reviewing its documents. Review managers control assignments, while reviewers rely on them to access their review work.

Review Assignments

A Review Assignment connects:
  • A review batch (static or dynamic)
  • One or more reviewers who will review the documents in that batch
Review Assignments determine:
  • Which batches a reviewer can see in the Review workspace
  • Which documents the reviewer is authorized to open and review
  • How review work is distributed across a review team
Assignments ensure that reviewers only access the batches intended for them.

Who uses Review Assignments?

Review Assignments support both review managers and assigned reviewers:
  • Review managers
    • Create and manage assignments
    • Control access to review batches
    • Adjust assignments as staffing or priorities change
  • Reviewers
    • Access the Review Assignments area to see all batches assigned to them
    • Open assigned batches to begin reviewing documents
    • Complete review work only within the batches they have been assigned
Assignments are the entry point for reviewers to find and work on their documents.

How assignments work with batch types

Review Assignments behave consistently across both batch types:
  • Static batches. Reviewers receive a fixed, unchanging set of documents.
  • Dynamic batches. Reviewers automatically receive additional documents as the active learning algorithm adds them to the batch.
In both cases, reviewers complete their work from within the Review Assignments section.

How reviewers use Review Assignments

Assigned reviewers use Review Assignments as their primary workspace for completing document review. Reviewers can:
  • See all batches assigned to them
  • Open a batch to view its documents
  • Begin reviewing documents directly from the assigned batch
  • Track their progress as they work
If a reviewer does not see a batch, it means it has not been assigned to them.

How assignments support tracking and analytics

Review Assignments work together with other Epiq AI Review features:
  • Review Analytics. Displays reviewer progress and batch‑level metrics.
  • Review Runs and Review Insights. Provide additional visibility into document-level model decisions for assigned work.
Assignments make it easier for managers to monitor review activity and ensure each reviewer has access to the correct documents.
