# Create a project

Creating a project lets you define its basic details, including name, type, client, and status.

  **Prerequisite:** Admin or Owner project access.

To add a project, complete the following procedure.

1. In the **Home** menu, select **Projects**.
2. On the **Projects** page, select **New Project**.
3. Enter the required information in the **New Project** dialog box:
   * **Name**. Enter a descriptive name for the project.
   * **Description**. Optionally describe the project’s purpose.
   * **Project type**. Select the appropriate type (for example, Review or Training).
     * To create a new project type, scroll to the bottom of the list and select **Create new project type**.
   * **Client**. Choose the associated client, if applicable.
   * **Timezone**. Set the time zone for the project.
   * **Status**. Select the project’s status (for example, Active or Archived).
4. Select **Create**.
