# Create an annotation field

Annotation fields correspond to tagging panels in your project. Creating an annotation field for a tagging panel makes that annotation field available in Review. You can create annotation fields at either the Collection level or the Project level. Annotation fields are available across the entire Project, even when created at the Collection level.

To create an annotation field, complete the following steps.

1. In the **Project space** menu, select **Settings**.
2. Select **Annotation Fields**.
3. Select your **Tagging Panel** from the dropdown.
4. Click **Create annotation field**.
5. In the **Create Annotation Field** box, do the following:
   1. Enter a field name.
   2. Select the field type.
   3. Type a description.
   4. Choose whether the annotation field is a list.
   5. Click **Add Field**.
