# Edit a metadata field description

To edit a project metadata field description, complete the following procedure.

1. In the **Project space** menu, select **Settings**.
2. Select **Metadata Fields**.
3. Locate the field you want to edit and select the **Actions** menu in the collection row.
4. Select **Edit**.
5. Enter the updated description and click **Update**.
