# Export documents

You can export a data volume containing documents and/or metadata for your collection.

To export documents, complete the following procedure.

1. In the **Project space** menu, select **Collections**.
2. Select a collection.
3. Select **Exports**.
4. Select **Create an export** > **Export Documents**.
5. Configure the following fields for your export:
   1. Enter a **Name**.
   2. Enter a **Description**.
   3. Select the **Dataset**.
   4. Choose whether to **Include family members**.
   5. Choose whether to **Include metadata**.
   6. Select the **Metadata format**.
   7. If including metadata, select the fields you want to include.
   8. Choose whether to **Include Natives**.
   9. Choose whether to **Include Texts**.
   10. Choose whether to **Include Tiff Images**.
6. Select **Create**.
