# Upload pre-processed documents

You can upload files that have already undergone processing outside Epiq AI.

To upload pre-processed documents, complete the following procedure.

1. In the **Project space** menu, select **Collections**.
2. Select a collection.
3. Select **Data uploads**.
4. Select **Create an upload**.
5. Select **Documents** > **Pre-processed documents**.
6. On the **Upload pre-processed documents** page, do the following:
   1. Type an **Upload Name**.
   2. Select the **Deduplication** method. Documents with the same file hash are considered duplicated.
      * **No Deduplication**. Keep all documents.
      * **Custodian Deduplication**. Detect duplicated items per custodian within the uploaded data source and remove duplicated copies. Each custodian keeps one unique copy of an item, even if the same item exists in another custodian's data.
      * **Global Deduplication**. Detect duplicated documents within the project and remove duplicated copies.
   3. Select the **Date Format**.
   4. Upload your load file (DAT or CSV). You can find your load file under the DATA folder or at the top level of the drive.
7. Select **Next**.
8. Validate the field mapping and select **Next**.
9. Choose the processing options:
   * **Text extraction**
   * **Metadata extraction**
   * **Native rendering**
10. Add your files using one of these options:
    * Drag and drop a folder of files.
    * Upload a ZIP or multipart ZIP file.
    * Select a cloud storage location. Cloud storage must be added at the account level in Admin settings to be available here.
      * Enter the storage URL and select **Validate URL**.
      * If your cloud storage requires passwords for decryption, select **Has passwords** and type them in the text box, one per line.
11. Select **Upload**.
