# Import highlight terms

Once you have a highlight group, you need to add highlight terms to it. One way to add highlight terms is to import them from an existing protocol.

To import highlight terms, complete the following steps.

1. In Collection **Settings**, select **Highlights**.
2. Select a highlight group.
3. Click **Import highlight terms**.
4. In the **Import highlight terms from a protocol** box, do the following:
   1. Select a protocol.
   2. Select the checkbox for each term you want to add.
   3. Click **Import**.
