# Add a collection

You can add a collection to organize documents within a project.

To add a collection, complete the following procedure.

1. In the **Project space** menu, select **Collections**.
2. Click **New Collection**.
3. In the **Create a collection** dialog box, enter the required information:
   * **Name**. Enter a descriptive name for the collection.
   * **Description**. Optionally describe the purpose or contents of the collection.
   * **Collection type**. Select the appropriate type from the dropdown list.
4. Select **Create**.

The collection is added to the project and is ready for document uploads, tagging, and workflow actions.
