# Expand a source reference

The source reference includes all documents cited in a response. Expanding it lets you view the full context of the information provided, especially useful in legal or investigative work where understanding the complete background is critical.

To expand a source reference:

1. On the Chat page, hover above the prompt box to reveal the actions menu.
2.
