# Start a chat

Ask AI enables you to ask questions specific to your data. Without any filters applied, Ask AI references all case documents in your project across all collections.

To start a conversation, complete the following procedure.

1. In the **Select A Project** dropdown, choose the project you want to use. If you have several projects, use the **Search** box to find the project you need.
2. When the project name appears at the top of the page, select **Add new chat**.
3. At the bottom of the Chat page, in the prompt box, enter your prompt and press **Enter**.
