# Knowledge

Epiq AI knowledge layer is designed to process documents and extract valuable knowledge from both text and metadata. It creates a representation of entities, relationships, documents, and topics, allowing users to manage and query knowledge efficiently. 

Aida stores the extracted knowledge efficiently across various types of databases: entities, relationships, and metadata are stored in a relational database, textual topics and summaries are indexed in a text search database, and vectorized representations (embeddings) are stored in a vector database for advanced search and clustering.

Users have the flexibility to make further edits of the entities and relations as needed.
