# Start a conversation

Ask AI enables you to ask questions specific to your data. Before you begin a conversation, select a project so Ask AI can access the relevant documents.

To start a conversation:

1. In the **Select A Project** dropdown, choose the project you want to use. If you have several projects, use the **Search** box to find the project you need.
2. When the project name appears at the top of the page, select **Add new chat**.
3. At the bottom of the Chat page, in the prompt box, enter your prompt and press **Enter**.

**Tip:** Rename your conversation to reflect the topic or question. This makes it easier to find and review later.
